It's a soothing thought, perhaps, that everyone has trinkets and other ephemera floating around in their lives. That's part of what makes "what's in my bag?" posts so fascinating — the fact that we all have miscellaneous stuff. That's right boys, I used an em dash. Don't be scared.
I love to see the contents of people's bags, wallets, or drawers. Do you have cash? Do you have a library card? Do you have a photo of someone? Maybe I'll show you what's usually in my bag later, but right now, here's a selection of things that I store in a little plastic folder. These are my mementos.
But what the hell are they? Let me explain them to you. From left to right:
- My school photo. Looking good!
- A handwritten thank you note from my favourite Tokyo restaurant, Umezono Sushi.
- My Ghibli Museum ticket.
- A picture of a child that I found on the ground in Paris (Amélie moment).
- Origami cranes, a small gift from another restaurant in Japan.
- Musée d'Orsay and Arc de Triomphe tickets (€16? Is she rich?).
- Bunny. I just like him.

Thank you for sharing. (Like you, I am endlessly fascinated by other people's Stuff.)
ReplyDeleteThese are so nice! I also collect little trinkets like these, with the hope that I'll eventually paste them into my scrapbook that I haven't touched in months!
ReplyDeleteYesss I love a good potential scrapbooking collection.
DeleteI LOVE seeing people's stuff too! I wanna know what everyone treasures and is most important to have in your bag. I might have to make a post about this too (maybe once I'm done dealing with my mystery illness lol.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon!
DeleteThank you!
DeleteI have a little 3d printed hedgehog in my bag, maybe an inch long from nose to rump. I got him from a kind stranger who had a whole tiny zoo on their dashboard in the parking lot, and when I complimented it, she offered to give me a creature!
ReplyDeleteAww this is so cute.. It’s so interesting seeing others’ random trinkets! I may not carry them in my day to day, but I do love a good trinket, such as littlest pet shops (I reordered a lost beagle figure from my childhood!) and random figures and pins.. and can’t forget my Cinnamoroll keychain on my keys! I’m lowkey inspired to carry some random stuff around more often
ReplyDeletethats so cute !! ! i love scanning things, it looks so much looker than a regular photo, i cant wait to get my hands on a portable one so i can scan shit on the street. now i feel like scanning everything i've got on my wallet and making a collage out of it
ReplyDeleteThese kind of mementos are lifesavers *o *
ReplyDeleteI love looking at these collections (and what's in my bag pictures etc)! Cute trinkets. Imagine this random child grows up and eventually finds this blog and sees themselves 🫨
