Warp

I have been thinking about ways to visually warp or alter images in relation to the idea of warped perceptions (everyone's perception of something is a little different), and in particular warped perceptions of personal identities, relationships, and memories. Film photo prints are good artefacts of memories, but they are also perfect objects to mess with, Our memories rely on visuals, so lots of memories are held in place by pictures made at the time. Most of us probably have memories that we know wouldn't be there (or would be much hazier) if we didn't have a picture. Bit given that photographs can be so linked to a moment of time in our minds, it's also pretty fun to change them.

  3. I love photo number 5, it looks like perfectly balanced abstract painting, this post kind of reminds me of the quote: 'There's no facts only interpretations' so true!

    1. That's really cool, I like that. My interpretation is the only thing I can control, so I'm kinda obsessed with the concept, and trying to review and change my interpretations.

    1. I'm glad you are enjoying the Ed bit because I cracked myself up so hard with that one, haha. I am not familiar with André Kertész, no, thank you for the recommendation! Also, ooh, how did I not think of The Metamorphosis?! I have to do some srs bsns research on all of this because it's a focus for my degree show and all but I think I'm a bit rubbish at research... or just a bit rubbish at understanding what exactly you are supposed to do and say at art school. You have Arthur on there! Arthur is the best.

    3. hahahahaha oh man I love Ed Sheeran. I swear you have a blog post/essay/mood board/dissertation on everything. You're like a really thick book. I tell my bf all the time he's like an encyclopedia because he always comes out with so many things like pigeon anatomy and medieval history and cheese production. I do not know how people have so much particular information stored up inside 'em! You just reminded me how much I love internet k-hole btw. I'm always getting suddenly reminded of its existence.
