2018 Blog Plans

So, it's 2018 and I'm back on my nonsense (and by nonsense I mean... my blog). After taking a break from super intensive blogging every day last year, I decided that I want to blog more again. I've missed focusing on my blog, on writing a bunch of stuff all the time, and of the push towards projects and stuff that I wouldn't necessarily be as interested in otherwise. It's been really, really nice to take some time away from my blogging habit to focus on doing other things and just breathing, but now I'm missing that outlet for streams of consciousness, for long form thinking and for putting all my pictures of cats on display all in a row.

I'm not too sure how often I want to blog yet, but I think I'll just see how I feel. Let it flow naturally. That said, I'm still going to post at 2pm GMT. That's my time and I want to stick to it. You may also have noticed that the blog name and URL has changed from "lilashton" to "lillyashton". It's just because I'm going by Lilly everywhere now, so it made sense to finally change my blog name too. You can still call me "Lil" though if you like. Sometimes it wasn't super obvious to people that "Lil" was actually my first name, so that was part of why I decided to go with Lilly instead. It's just that bit more recognisable. But I'm still Lil too. It just depends. If you're mad at me, definitely don't call me Lil. It just doesn't sound right.

I'm excited about the (admittedly tiny) name change, and hopefully there aren't too many horrible dead links lying around. Please let me know if you do happen to find any dead links (you can leave a comment or email me at the address listed on my info page).

So I'm looking forward to blogging a bit more, and hopefully engaging with readers and other bloggers more too. I hope blogging like this never dies, because the culture and community about it is really unique and fun. I would hate for it to go away.

Other than that, I really want to use a lot of my paint this year, maybe start to use my watercolours more, and definitely to make myself try out digital drawing a whole lot more. I also want to generally improve the quality of my pictures, and remember to do outfit/fashion posts, because they're always really fun but I often neglect them because I'm too busy doing other stuff to pose for outfit pictures (and sometimes it just feels embarrassing and makes me sweaty, so y'know).

I hope 2018 will be a good one.
