Dog Butt (a philosophy)
Do not ask me why I have drawn this beautiful dog brandishing his butt like a lethal weapon, for I am a mere mortal who cannot explain the arcane mysteries of this world. Logic and reason escapes me in the face of such clear mystic energy. Although truly, I do often think of the bit in the Sanrio Boys anime where the little girl shows someone her Pompompurin bag and she says that his bumhole is his cutest feature ("Pompompurin's most attractive feature is his butt hole" - from the very first episode) , which I know seems weird, but honestly it's just cute.
It makes me happy that there can be such an innocently childlike and nice approach to a cartoon dog's bumhole. Like, okay, sure. I mean he's wearing a hat and he's very round and cute. Maybe that's what I would immediately pinpoint as his best feature. But this isn't about me. It's about a Sanrio character's bottom. And that's one reason that the world is beautiful and filled with magic.
Maybe we should be inspired by the butts of dogs more often, is all I'm saying. Don't look at me like I'm weird. I'm a wise prophet, and my sage wisdom will bring you to your knees. Or your butt.
And now I'm thinking about the unmatched glee of my grandfather, a jazz-loving Scottish man who holidays in France as often as possible, looking at and taking pictures of dogs' butts. And, to be honest, any kind of animals' butts. It is his greatest passion. I have not inherited his joy for cul des animaux, but more of a solemn respect and reverence. A dog butt deserves contemplation. It deserves admiration. For the dog butt is more than a dog butt. It is a philosophy. A doctrine. Let us all gaze at the dog butts and let them enlighten us.
It's five to eleven and I'm writing a blog post about dog bums before I go to bed. What are you doing with your life? Because I'm living mine, and every moment is a sup from the goblet of sheer, unadulterated joie de vivre. And now I've used two French phrases, so I know that my dog butt respecting granddad would be proud. Goodnight.
